Charley-Lois

Born in the early 1990s, Charley-Lois grew up surrounded by artists, creatives, makers, story tellers and wild countryside. Independent alternative schooling curriculum and community engagement enabled her to explore a broad range of artist approaches, mediums and practices from a very early age.

Lived experience with chronic pain and adverse health experiences inform her perspective of 'invisible' disability, while igniting her passion to be heard and build connection through visual engagement.

The theme throughout her creative exploration has always been to better understand the human experience and elucidate the uncomfortable and beautiful places in our lives and in our minds. A window into a moment of experience, the viewers interpretation and own story telling when engaging with art is the facet that completes the circle of art in the 'living' sense. Intentional or not, visual and written expression is a window into self-exploration and understanding in the context of our fragility, our resilience, and further, our humble and temporary place on this ground.
